Tamira Cousett

“Yoga invites us to simply begin again."

TRAINING AND EDUCATION

Tamira completed her Hatha yoga training with Paul and Sommer Sobin at Thousand Petals Yoga. Their influence was deeply formative, shaping both her personal practice and her teaching style with an emphasis on curiosity, presence, and connection.

OFF THE MAT

Outside the studio, Tamira is deeply connected to environmental stewardship and the creation of spaces where people can practice presence with one another and with life. She loves spending time with her daughters, tending to her chickens, floating in lakes and oceans, reading books, and lifting weights.

Get to Know Tamira

Tamira is inspired by yoga’s quiet invitation to return, again and again, to the present moment. She finds beauty in the practice’s ability to evolve alongside us, meeting each student exactly where they are.

Teaching Style

Rooted in warmth and curiosity, Tamira’s classes create a space of refuge and homecoming. She encourages students to use props to explore new edges of practice, discover strength and mobility, and experience familiar poses in fresh ways. Her teaching is grounded in the reminder that yoga is about practice, not perfection. For Tamira, yoga is transformative.

“What inspires me most about teaching is holding space for students to feel both supported and changed by their practice.”

She hopes each student leaves class more grounded in their bodies and curious about the ways yoga can support them in everyday life.
